Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Activities of this student branch of the Institute of Electrical Engineering and Electronics are to assist electrical engineering students and bring them information via technical speakers, films, and other means. Its objectives are to provide social and cultural activities for its members and to promote friendship and understanding among all the nations of the world represented by students at the University. It promotes conferences, films, dances, television programs, and participation in all of the social, cultural, and sports activities of the University. Home Economics Chapter The USL Home Economics Chapter, organized in 1925, was the first home economics college club in Louisiana. The chapter sends delegates to the Louisiana and American Home Economics Associations ' conventions. Each member receives a club yearbook. The chapter participates in Aggie Day and the district FHA convention held on campus. Members are en- couraged to visit high school home economic classes to pro- mote the profession. Horticulture Club The purposes of this organization are to stimulate interest in horticulture and to assist the horticulture department in any way possible.
