These were The firsT words said by The fooTball players, band members, cheer- leaders, ROTC, and vol- leyball players when They woke up in The early hours. When AugusT arrived, iT was Time To geT serious even Though iT was unexpecTedly upon Them. To The players, summer was over, aT leasT ThaT's how iT seemed. Au- gusT meanT early hours, heaT, frus- TraTion, and exhausTion. PracTice was number one on Their lisT. Chris PiTTman, JV fooTball player, said, AT firsT iT sTinks, buT iT geTs beTTer as we go. On a lighTer side, ScoTT PosaviTz, VarsiTy fooTball player, said, lT's only Two weeks and we need The pracTice To be ready for you ,.... 1 The upcoming season. OuT on The band field, com- mands of aTTenTion were heard. CommenTing on The pracTice, Evelyn Tidwell, senior, says, 'llT's good To a poinT, buT you can'T ex- pecT The besT if you don'T prac- Tice.
