Programs of study for the junior high offered a solid background for extended work at the senior high level. Senior high electives included biology, physics, and chemistry. Two new courses were instituted. One was the second year B.S.C.S. biology course which stressed discovery through individual research in the laboratory. The other, laboratory technology, was designed to teach lob techniques along with the basic concepts of chemistry. ABOVE Mrs. Swonson performed on experiment while Ricky Anderson watched. LEFT. Mathematics Challenged Students’ Minds The installation of a hook-up to the Pillsbury computer system introduced students to the degree of mathematical skills required in today's world. Use of the computer wos offered to the eleventh and twelfth grade students studying more advanced principles; the junior high concentrated on mastering the basic mathematical skills. For juniors, health dosses lasted for a semester and were co-educational. The other semester wos spent learning and practicing adult sports which could be used outside of class. The physical education deportment hos always succeeded in keeping up with modern techniques. UPPER RIGHT: Mrs. Stewort and Mr. Bonks lectured to the co ed health dosses. CENTER RIGHT: Mr. Ford.
