G.A.A. Southwest should be very proud of its girls' teams. The swimming team, a branch of G.A.A. won the City Championship, with Barb Bowers the individual high point scorer. Those placing in the city meet, which Southwest won with a total of fifty-six points were: Barb Bowers. Joelle Cleary. Linda Libbey. Carol Steffy. Mary Jo Smidell. and Judy Green. Congelations! Two teams entered the Badminton tournament. According to Mrs. Boylan the record was Not so good' but the prospect looks good for next year. Silver Tri. a YWCA service organization composed of Freshman and Sophomore girls, was given a preview of the year’s activities by means of a style show last fall. Service projects, the International Fair at the y, joint parties, potluck suppers, skating events. Mothers’ Tea. informational programs were only a few of the season's activities. Climaxing the program was the campaign for new officers, the Recognition Tea, and the week end at Lyman Lodge. Highlights of the year were Silver Tri’s contribution to Field Service with profits from the Sweetheart Swing Dance at Glen-wood Chalet, and the Easter breakfast with the other two Y groups of Southwest.
