At their bi-weekly meetings this year, they enjoyed such things as a Hawaiian dancer and planned parties. Among their service projects was a giftwrapping party at Christmas time. These girls help others as well as have fun among themselves. Congratulations on a fine year’s work. C 26]

This year the most iiii|x»rtant single activity of the Student Council was the starting of a long range student government program. Under the very able leadership of advisor Mr. llaaheim, President Bob Christianson, and Vice President Ann Sullivan, we have already successfully climbed the first rung of the student government ladder. A governing body has been established in the lunchroom, and the council hopes to add to the movement very soon by having students run the study halls. Besides student government, the council actively participated in several other activities such as sponsoring dances, supporting the Community Youth Center, participating in the West-Southwest Youth Conference, organizing a United Nations Day Program, and participating in the City and State Student Councils. Under the guidance of Mr. Ilaaheim and with the help and interest of the student laxly, we predict a very promising future for the Southwest Student Council.
