The Indians won the first opening game in school history as they blanked a favored North eleven by a 19 to 0 margin. Continuing their dominance over Vocational, the gridders powered their way to a we'l earned triumph. 14 to 0. In the next contest the Indians, playing in frigid weather and under the lights of Nicollet Park, were held scoreless. 13 to 0 by South. Playing without Paul Eddy, the gridsters suffered their second consecutive defeat at the hands of a strong West squad. 19 to 7. Southwest opened another chapter in their success story as they came back to edge out Edison 13 to 12 in the Homecoming Game. The Indians ruined Roosevelt s homecoming by upsetting the Teds. 13 to 7. A highly inspired and keyed up team produced the greatest upset of the city race in dashing away almost all hopes of a Henry championship. by a 20 to 13 count. In the season s finale, winless Washburn outpointed our boys in a high scoring affair. 26 to 25. Clint Andrus, our fine captain, was honored by being selected as all city tackle and was picked most valuable player in the league. Clint was one of the hardest working gridders in city circles, playing both offense and defense besides calling signals and doing all the kicking. Bob Meredith, who led the league in scoring with 60 points, was placed on the league's second team. Credit must be given to Coach Sullivan for his hard work. [18]
