Swimming With Captain Newton Bowers and free style artist Jerry Leatherman leading the way, the Southwest swimming team finished with a 6-4 won-lost record. Bovvers lost the first meet in which he swam by only .2 of a second. Leatherman was a winner in every dual meet all season. Without any veterans in the breast stroke the mermen still managed to put up quite a fight in every meet. They lost to city champions Roosevelt by only seven points in a dis- puted decision. Coach Rudy Pedersen says that the prospects for next year do not look any better with the material which is returning from this year ' s team. Michael Hagberg, [im Rugg, lr Cornwell and Don HulTord are the other seniors who will be lost for next year. Row 1: Earl Streitz, David Bowers, Coach Ruily Pedersen, Newton Bowers. Michael Hag- berg.
