W. LAWRENCE CANNON Principal An outstanding feature of this school year has been the improvement of our activities program. The student body, with the leadership of the Student Council and Activities Council, has done a marvelous job in providing many new and varied projects to inspire the interest of Southwest students. Consequently, participation in the extracurricular program, which reached an all time high, has given us a new pride in our school. A quite noticeable fringe benefit has been a friendlier school atmosphere that undoubtedly indicates an improved school spirit. With the fine start we have made this year and with continued cooperation in the direction we have gone, we may hope not only for further expansion of the program but also for a greater feeling of unity.

To this good friend and wise counselor, as a small expression of our respect and admiration, we wish to dedicate the 1960 Sachem-.
