University, Mr.'Norris has served Southwest for two years, working closely with the personnel of the school district and handling the many details involved in administering the curriculum and other programs in the educational field. Southwest Independent School District is ranked among the most outstanding school systems in the district, chiefly because of the unselfish dedication of our Board of Trustees. Its members bear the great responsibility of maintaining a modern school system and an up to date curriculum. Each member, elected by the citizens of this area, works with such specific problems as home and school relations, the selection of building projects and locations, and accel- erated study programs. The Board also guides the various schools in our district so far as school policy is concerned. We are fortunate to have this devoted group of men interested in our school and its welfare.

HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL, MR.. KENNETH LYSSY This year Southwest High School has expanded and prospered under the pilotage of Kenneth Lyssy, its principal. Mr. Lyssy obtained his formal edu- cation at St. Mary's University. Hehas served South- west as Teacher, Assistant Principal, and now as Principal. Mr. Lyssy has made a great contribution to dis- trict and loc al teachers' association work, having served as treasurer of the District Teachers' State Association, and as co-chairman to handle arrange- ments for the State convention held in San Antonio this year. He has been president ofthe local South- west Teachers' Association for 1967 -68. Leading a capable ad min is t r ati v e staff, our favorite dragon, Mr. Lyssy, helps solve any problems which may arise during the year.
