The Student Council at Southside acts as the coordinating
body for all student activities. The Student Council started the
school year by presenting an officer inauguration assembly, which
the student body attended. During the year, the council was
involved with the future of Southside by distributing and tabulat-
ing a survey for the S.C.O.P.E. committee.

The council handled the dance schedule, the elections of the
Homecoming and Erie Bell Queens, and the Salvation Army can
drive. A student exchange day was organized. Popular movies
were shown. Money was raised and donated to charity organiza-
tions. Student communication and interest was restored in student
activities.

The Edsonian business staff is responsible for selling the year-
book to the students and faculty andialso helping to raise outside
money to offset expenses. This year, thetstaff held one dance,
sold yearbooks in the cafeteria throughout December, and sold
ads to local businesses and friends of Southside. The students had
the option of purchasing their name engraved on the front cover.
Yearbooks were again sold in the cafeteria, which proved to be a
great success.

This year, the Edsonian 1977 staff wanted to present
a yearbook to the students and to the Class of 1977 that
was done in the school colors, Green and White,
Through use of green on the cover and throughout the
senior section, the staff has put together a book dedi-
cated to our school and to the "Times of our Lives."
This year's staff worked long and hard for many
months to make this a book that you would be proud
of. Overcoming problems and other obstacles in produc-
tion, we feel that we have succeeded in making this a
book for us and for the school.
This year, the Edsonian was led by Sue Draht, editor,
and judy Williamson, assistant editor. This book would
not have been possible without the help and guidance of
the two advisors, Mr. Haven and Mr. Smith. They de-
serve our thanks from the Class of 1977.
