SOCIETY Homomsocvew W
Scholarship, service, character, and leadership are the
requirements for admittance to Southside,s Alpha chapter
of the National Honor Society. Consideration is first
given to scholarship, then by faculty vote, each student is
individually judged according to the other three standards.
The objectives of this society are to stimulate a desire
to render service to the school, to promote worthy leader-
ship, and to encourage the development of character in
the pupils.
Under the guiding hand of Miss Elsa Brookfield, the ad-
visor of the organization, this year's members have enjoyed
both business and social activities. A scholarship class
was organized to better prepare candidates for the New
York State Scholarship Examinations and enrich their
high school education.
