THESPIANS The National Thespian Society is an organization designed for those students who wish to further their knowledge in the field of dramatic arts. Members of this club at present are: Sally Langley, Linda Darting, Kent Smith, Bob Chance, Judy Adams, Karolyn Kuchler, Beverly Pruett, Jill Turner, Stephanie Tilson, Mike Kasting, Harry Browning, Marilyn Bowers, Linda Woolsey, Brian Jerden, and Nancy Speicher. . . . glee? Jdcf, jim? algae! THE STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council of Southport l-ligh School is the students' governing body. The members, acting as representatives of his own homeroom, bring all complaints and suggestions to the Council meetings. Among the many activities of the Student Council is an annual magazine drive which is held throughout the school to raise money for the treasury. The money is used for im- provements to the school, In addition, this year it may help to bring a foreign exchange student to Southport. The Council spon- sors the Christmas Dance attended by faculty, students and alumni. The entire student body elected as officers Mike Kastings, president, Charlie l-lills, vice-president, Candy Purcell, secretary, and Sandy Ruoff, treasurer. Mr. Brown is their sponsor. 77
