J ne : clynlnistrati on The success of Southport High School depends upon the careful planning of the administrative leaders Mr. Leedy, principal; Dr. Glenn, Superintendent of Schools; Miss Penrod, dean of girls; Mr. Theil and Mr. Ratliff, dean of boys and vice principals; and Mr Krause, head guidance counselor, aided by Mrs. Pear- son, Mr. Brown, Mr. Morgan, and Mr. Robbins, guid- ance counselors for the freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior classes respectively, all work together to- ward one goal - one well functioning unit - Southport Hiah School. Mr. Ratliff This past year, the guidance department has grown to include a counselor for each class. Mrs Pearson, freshman class sponsor, ably guides the freshman; Mr. Brown, sophomore class sponsor, the sophomores; Mr. Morgan the |uniors and Mr Krause, senior class sponsor, and Mr. Robbins, the seniors.

Dr. Glenn, Superintendent of Schools, and Mr. Leedy, principal of Southport High School, decide many poli- cies that contribute to the successful functioning of our high school. THE PRINCIPALS POINT OF VIEW We want Soutnport High School to have a happy, wholesome environment in which our young men and women are exposed to and take part in such experiences as will enable them to become good American Citizens. The above involves getting their lessons to the best of their ability as well as adequate particiat the journey ' s end with grades commensurate with their abili- they are happy in doing. It further involves learning to get along with your teachers and living peaceably and happily with those about you. Those who go through the four years at Southport and arrive at the journey ' s end with grades commensurate with their abili- ty, and with a disposition of friendliness toward others may well consider their high school days a success.
