"ISM lux'+'Let there be light'-is
the motto of the Advanced Latin
Club," states Larry Graham, Ccnsul,
as the other members, attire-d in tc-
gas, listen intently, The purpose of
the club is to acquaint the student
with the Roman way of life and to
do this they read Roman myths and
plays at their meetings, The high-
light of the year came at the Christ-
mas meeting when the members ini-
tiated the Beginning Latin Club mem-
bers. The club's officers are Larry
Graham, Consul, Cindy Langdon, Pro-

Beginning Latin Club
"Labor Omnia Vicit"-"Work con-
quers all things"-is the motto writ-
ten on the scroll which each member
of the Beginning Latin Club receives
at his initiation. The Latin Club en-
deavors to acquaint the members with
the many ways in which Latin is asa
sociated with our life today, and in
what respect the arts are indebted to
it for their themes. Latin touches the
lives of everyone very closely, since
about sixty-five per cent of the words
of the English language are derived
from Latin. Displaying various Roman
symbols are Consul, Mark Folkening,
Pro-Consul, Tom Canter, Quaestor,
Sharon Ford, and Aedile, Phyllis
Wetzel,
