Our Melody Makers ORCHESTRA The orchestra practiced diligently . . . playing during intermissions for class plays and operettas . . . worrying with formal skirts while trying to play . . . practicing the last, long hour sixth period before the final bell . . . running over the scale until it nearly drove them crazy . . . and how faithful both the band and orchestra were as they successfully provided music for all types of occasions. Farewell adieu to seniors Herbert Korra, Joe Hawthorne, Shirley Marschke, Frank Gates, and Ralph Robertson.

Life Uf The Faithful Tooters The band was always loyal as it played at ball games and pep sessions under direction of Mr. Warble. Remember the practice during fifth period every day . . . the rush to put instruments away before the bell . . . the attempt to follow information at ball games . . . the problem of beating time . . . the hot, stiff uniforms . . . the dreaded solo and ensemble con- tests . . . the hard work and the long practices before concerts? We will never forget our conscientious band. Seniors leaving the band are Joe Hawthorne, Herbert Korra, Shirley Marschke, James Fritz, Frank Gates, and Ralph Robertson.

Although the nervousness practically gets the participants down, the award and the fun and excitement make it a worth while affair.
