.-,-....Q.................,..-.. ....i,.. I 1 no I- 1 t CLASS DIARY FRESHMAN YEAR - l953 Dear Diary: Gee, I'm scared! Our first year in high school. We finally made it. Sure is nice not to have to get up until around l0 o'clock in the morning. This is the first year of double sessions. September-Big election news! Nat Florian was chosen to lead us through our green,' year with john Brunalli as an able right-hand man. Maggie O'Hala was elected record keeper while Andy Meade kept our bankbook balanced. Mr. Walter Meyers was unanimously chosen as our Class Advisor. This month we were officially welcomed to S.H.S. by the Seniors at a dance we won't forget! That lipstick took hours to get off, and I thought I'd never find my shoes. October-Under the coaching of Mr. Orsene our Freshman boys organized Fresh- man Sports. Miss Carroll organized the first group of Freshman Cheerleaders who were Maggie O'Hala, captain, Margie Marotto, Patty Masthay, Maureen Butler, Lolly Witow- ski, Arlene LePage, and Fran Wendt. February-Our first money-making attempt-a square dance which proved to be very successful. Gail Schuman and Nat Florian were elected Freshman Pages for the annual Valentine Dance. March-Our first Magazine Campaign! We made a good showing by coming in second. Next year we'll win! Don't tell me june is just around the corner. Oh those awful exams. What! We have to be at school by 7:30 A.M.!! Well we had a lot of fun, and hope to have lots more next year. SOPHOMORE YEAR - 1954 September-7:30 A.M. Yawn! What's that you said? It's zoo early to think straight. llll never get used to it. Oh-you say we held elections! Nat Florian, Pres., John Bru- nalli, Veep.g Fran Wendt, Scribe, and Andy Meade, moneyholder. October-Girls' Sports organized for the first time at S.H.S. Three Sophomore girls to make Honor Varsity Team are Maggie O'Hala, Mary Ann Walonoski, and Carol Heise. The Sophomore boys doing well on the gridiron and basketball court. November-We collaborate with the Freshmen and hold another square dance. A big turn-out gave us a nice profit. February-Maggie O'Hala and Andy Meade chosen as Sophomore Pages for the Valentine Dance. March- Curly Davis back with the magazines. We work real hard only to place second again! Oh well, Theres Always Tomorrow. The members of the Student Council from the Sophomore Class were Nancy Porter, Arlene LePage, Howard Gilman, Betty Snow, and Stella Bobrowiecki. April-That screaming has finally stopped that l've been hearing from the gym and the Sophomore girls that made cheerleading were: Gail Schuman, Fran Wendt, Betta Curran, Pat Masthay, and Stella JUNIOR YEAR - 1955 S Dear Diary: Here we are-upperclassmen at last! September-Election News! Time for a change. Alphonse D'Angelo, President' i Q , Nancy Porter, Vice-President, Frances Wendt, Secretaryg Robert Stankoski, Treasurer. Mr. Steven Florie was chosen as our new Class Advisor.
