At one time the whole university held classes in Dallas Hall, but today many buildings have been added to the university campus. One of the neuest of these is the completely air-conditioned Fon- dren Science building, built in 1949. Fondren Science is one of the most up-to-date buildings of its kind. Follouing the Georgian architecture of the campus, it houses classrooms, lecture rooms, laboratories, a large map library, and a herbarium. Fondren Library is accessible to all students of the university. TTie building was opened in 1940 and is completely air-condi- tioned, containing reading rooms, a reference room, a browsing room and facilities for private study and research. This general library houses, in addition to the catalogued books and pamphlets, the university collections of art and the Mary McCord Museum of the Tlieater.
