Since l935 he has di- vided his time between instructing S.M.U.'s journalists and Writing publicity for the athletic department. This year he was appointed acting business manager for athletics. S.M.U. '45 -'46 was no exception. Victory in the Pacific found Hilltoppers returning to nor- mal activities tor the first time in halt a decade. Postwar S.M.U. mirrored pre- war days . . . veterans swelled classrooms, recording the largest enrollment in the school's history . . . athletic' functions drew capac- ity crowds . . . social lite was marked with hilarity and gran- deur, absent during War years . . . Naval trainees, fewer in number, continued their studies. Mustangs, with the memory ot their former classmates who would not be returning to the Hilltop, re- sumed their extra-curricular acti- vities with solemn consideration of the responsibilities resting on their shoulders in the new Atomic Era.
