Martin also is head coach of the football and baseball squads. Leland Doe Lingle is the coach With the longest term of service at Southern. Lingle is the head coach of the Cross Country and Track squads, and also serves as an assistant in football. William Freeburg is head coach of the Tennis team and coach of the Gym team. Freeburg also serves as head coach of the 'B' team in football. Lynn Holder is the coaching head of the basketball and golf teams, and also is an assistant coach in football. V Stinson, from Eldorado, Was a three letterman here at Southern, he lettered in basketball, track, and football. He was three times All-Conference center in basketball, and is presently the holder of the Southern diseus record in Traek. He was reeently named in the Collegiant magazine as an outstanding center in college basketball. Another award, although not as glamorous, came from the Egyptian sports editor, who thanked Stinson for being of such news value.
