A St 1 l'he necd for '1gricultur'1l products is greittr every dav 'is tht country becomes more thickly settled and the cities lIlC1'C'lSL in population. l'o mcet this need the farmer must farm more scientifically and produce more pro- ducts on the same amount of land. The time is here-practically speaking- when he can no longer acquire new land when the old wears out, as most of that adapted to farming is now under cultivation. lt is the purpose of this school to prepare the boys and girls to do this when they get out in life, to make life more pleasurable by teaching him, or her, how to manage, and how to make the farm home more beautiful and better equipped. NYhile it gives special training in vocational work, it by no means ne- glects the regular academic courses. All the essential ones are taught along with the vocational subjects. ln this way it not only prepares the student to better serve mankind and himself by teaching better farming methods, but to follow other occupations, if preferable, as any other high school does. In addition to the regular school courses open to the student, there are plenty of opportunities for student activities. There are: five literary so- cieties, all of which are doing good work: a good live Sunday School: Y. M. C. A. for boys: Y. XY. A. X ti. R. C. for girls, a good band: a good orches- tra, and special programs from time to time. rendered by the school under the supervision of the expression and music teachers. Realizing that the literary education and athletics go Uhand in handf' the necessary time is devoted to the different forms of athletics, a high moral standard being upheld throughout.
