DEDICATION
We of the 1955 Pirates' Log Staff wish to dedicate
this edition to the citizens of the Southeast Local School
District in appreciation of the many opportunities of
education they have provided usg making it possible for
us to attend school, consolidating to give us increased
learning facilities and providing a newer, larger and
more equipped building.
We shall strive to uphold the principles and ideals
they have established for us in the community so that
their sacrifices will not have been in vain.

STUDENT COUNCIL
The Student Council has been set up to give you, the students, a voice in
the school government. This is the place for you to bring your problems,
through your class representatives, whom you have elected to speak for you.
It also takes charge of setting up the school calendar, planning assemblies,
movies, etc. for the entertainment and enjoyment of the students.
The Student Council consists of eighteen members, three representatives
from each class, four officers and two advisors.
We members consider it a great honor to be able to represent you in the
governing body of the school.

JUNIOR-SENIOR PROM
MAY 7, 1955
"An Evening in Paris" was
the theme of this year's
Junior-Senior Prom. The
high school gymnasium was
beautifully decorated to
look like a street scene in
Paris. Everyone enjoyed
dancing and the night-club-
bing which followed.

Mr Holb awarding Katy the pm which signifies State Katy saying good-by to her parents, Mr, I, A. Hill, and
Homemaker of Tomorrow to her little sister, Glenis.
KATY HILL
STATE HOMEMAKER OF TOMORROW
Everyone in the Southeast School
District is very proud of Katy Hill, who
won the Ohio Betty Crocker Homemaker
of Tomorrow Contest.
As her prize, Katy was awarded a
S1500 scholarship andan-all-expense-
paid trip for herself and Mrs. Westover,
our Home Economics teacher, to Wash-
ington D. C. and Williamsburg, Virginia.
While there, Katy and the winners from
the forty-seven other states were judged
to determine the National winner.
The National winner was announced
by Eddie Fisher, the emcee at a tele -
vise d banquet in the girls' honor, in
Philadelphia. Katy was not the National
winner, but we're proud of her just the
same.
CONGRATULATIONS KATY!
