One of the thousands of student records brings a smile to registrar Ruth Robinson's face. Librarians Margaret Hart and Adele Toller enjoy a free moment before the 5:15 rush. I Handling endless .collections keeps ,Dorothy COX, 5Cl'100l HCCOUM' ant, constantly occupied. Assistants Provide A capable office staff is essential to a well-organized school. Here at Southeast two secretaries and a registrar keep attendance, record grades, write letters and prepare transcripts. In addition to this staff, the school accountant has charge of all collections. The school nurse has perhaps the most versatile job in the school. Although daily filing and paper work take up a good deal of her time, she often has to cope with students' fevers, headaches, sprains and an occasional brok- en bone. Although the library staff isnit part of the faculty, it does serve a vital part in the academic life at Southeast. While keeping track of 17,000 books, these ladies assist students in everything from finding the origin of an un- usual word to securing precise information for a research paper. Mr. George R. Powell has served South- east for more years than any other administrator. During his first few years here, Mr. Powell taught physics and aeronautics while serving as vice-principal. Through the years he has been closely connected with each senior class, while playing a vital part in Castle life. 154' n'S,f,a:, S f M-M,-W, Mr. Berle Adams, vice-principal, has been well known to Southeast students for many years. Except for four years in the Air Force, Mr. Adams has been here since 1940 as a math teacher, basketball coach and, since 1963, vice- principal. His main duty is to serve as advisor of sophomores and juniors. As assistant to the principal this year, Mr. William Herron advised freshmen and oversaw building security. Before this he was the foot- ball coach at Manual and, in 1963, was honored here as Coach of the Year. His favorable im- pression of the students then has been reinfor- ced after a year at Southeast.
