McMillan promotes school spirit Dear Seniors: The SOUTHEAST SPIRIT is the feeling side of student responses to their school' life. It emanates from feelings rooted in confidence and mastery, preparedness and solidarity, self-respect, ability and desire to get along with oth- ers, fair play, loyalty, friendliness, success and failure. Feelings affect behavior or conduct which in turn characterize SCHOOL SPIRIT or student morale as high or low, desirable or undesirable, controlled or uncontrolled. Good SPIRIT reveals clear thinking which is prerequisite to acceptable behavior. The more of which Knights and Ladies are proud, the greater their desirable school SPIRIT will be. A good SPIRIT within you is as essential as knowledge. It will inspire you with noble thoughts and direct your rea- soning when you weigh value against value. You will be necessary to the earth and mankind will give you bread. Let this SPIRIT come from a rich heart. Let it control your tongue and your activities all the days of your lives.
