Thus both learn from their classroom experiences be- cause of willingness to learn together, each with an open mind. Such teacher-pupil interaction stimulates eagerness to learn. The spirit that exists when this happens is a great part of education. Grganizations The foundation for all Southeast clubs is a spirit of loyalty. This is evident in the enthusiasm of students who meet with others having common interests. Club members share learning experiences and recreational interests. One club may encourage learning the cul- ture of a foreign land, while another may stress good scholarship and character. Each organization benefits the school in its own way. Activities Spirit underlies many different Southeast activities when knights and ladies pool their talents, energy and time for the benefit of Southeast. Even though these students are struggling to memorize lines or repeating a dance routine for the tenth time, persistence and determination are evident. Through contributing something worthwhile to school life, students develop a special spirit among themselves. Athletics Spirit is truly demonstrated through keen competition on the ath- letic field. Ardent Southeast fans spur the Knights on to score the crucial winning point. Whether in victory or defeat, the team members are always working together to maintain spirit. The ef- fort to play a good game, to win and to uphold good sportsmanship is a vital part of this team spirit. 8
