OFFICERS JUDI YOUNG Secretary RONNTE SKATES Vice-P resident JIM SHEFFIELD Giftorian FRED SCOTT Publicis! ROGER PHILLIPS President BUD AB121. Sergeant-at-Arms KAY TIMBERLAKE Treasurer Knights We, the seniors, come to the end of our training in Knight- hood with a feeling of accomplishment. As eighth graders our induction into the ideals and traditions of Southeast Was more baffling than significant. But through studying, participating in extra-curricular activities, supporting athletic events, and living together in the Castle, the spirit of Southeast became a part of us. We progressed from Apprentice Pages, to Pages, Heralds, and Squires, and finally earned the title of Knights and Ladies. May the virtues of Knighthood guide us as We mount our steeds and ride into the tournament of life. 1'I'J IT1 Bti I J l 1 w l Siu Y I I f S N0

Participating wholeheartedly in the life of his host community, Nico made many friends and even more acquaintances. While he learned firsthand of the many different as- pects of American life-its customs, ideals, interests, and problems-he also broadened our horizons by telling us about his own country and his daily life there. After he returns home, Nico plans to continue his education for a career in physics at the University of Leiden. Southeast has benefited from the program of the American Field Service by participating in this program for the past four years. The AFS, since its found- ing in 1915, has had as its aims the promotion of friendship and increased under- standing among men. This organization has been sponsoring these aims among the youth of the world for twelve years. Through the student-exchange plan, future citizens of the world are learning to respect those who, though they live in different countries, have dreams and efforts directed toward the goal of a peaceful and useful life. Southeast students and faculty have been happy to join Nico van Niekerk and the AFS in the co-operative spirit that swings open wide the door to a friendlier world.
