HARRY R MCMILLAN, Pmzcipal DEAR SENIORS: Brief have been the days since first we met in The Great Hall. Deep is your gratitude for memories of life in the Castle, a record of your yesterdays. It is not just thoughts of the past that you cherish. You are eager, ready, and prepared to travel the highway that leads from your yesterdays to to- morrow's dwelling place of your ambitions and desires. So let Today embrace Yesterday with pleasant memories and Tomorrow with keen anticipation. Life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterdayf, Your daily life will be your new Castle. When you enter therein, take with you the Southeast motto, A brave South- east Knight loveth chivalry, truth, honor, freedom, and fair courtesy , the Southeast spirit, and your feeling of pride, faith, and confidence in your new Castle. Then, as now, you will be glad for the memories of this day, your Day of Com- mencement. Sincerely yours, HARRY R. MCMILLAN, Principal

xv' K 'E life here in the Southeast Castle is designed to provide sound physical growth and mental development that will furnish you, our students, the best tools of thought available for constructive thinking. It is designed to teach morality that will insure habits of praiseworthy living among all races and creeds of men and provide experiences that will increase your Trust in God and encourage obedience to His law as it is taught in the church of your choice. Time passes so rapidly that We hope each of you will grasp every opportunity to participate in the many activities of our free society. After graduation you should be found at Work in civic organizations which are seeking to safeguard our free democratic Way of life. May We find you actively interested in political parties, commercial associations, and labor unions, as well as doing volunteer work in scientiic, philanthropic, church, and welfare groups. Your unselfish, even sacrificial service, should exceed the record of our hon- ored ancestors Who nutured the institutions of our free so- ciety. We are fortunate to have such a heritage, and we are obligated to preserve and improve it for our children's chil- dren. In, such endeavors, our best Wishes attend each of you. Sincerely, GEORGE R. POWELL, Vice-Principal GEORGE R. POWELL Vzce Prmczpal
