j .ia f ' My 0 fl Q 4,10 , 7 as 2115, sf 22,q.gy ff fizff, 17 gran jfs ' I fi? M' xfvf I'III1 GRADUATING CLASS OF '48, realize that there has MJ, never been a time in the history of our nation when an education is as essential as it is today. The atom bomb and W'orld XVar II did not directly endanger our lives, but they have created a new order-an era in which many of the problems of every- day life remain unsolved. We are not dismayed nor overwhelmed by these facts, but we are cognizant of them. I We are grateful for the opportunity of attending Southeast High School four short years. We are mindful of the many advantages and opportunities for study, for normal and healthy bodily development, but most of all-we are grateful for the inspiration received from the culture, refinement, and dignity of our Alma Mater. We leave Southeast High School somewhat dismayed by the sudden- ness with which our senior year has ended. We hoped and longed for this day, but now that it is here, we find that we are not ready for it. Though happy in our accomplishment, we have a hesitancy in leaving the protecting walls of our Castle, but we resolve that we will enter our new fields of endeavor with all the courage of true Knights.
