MR. J. G. BRYAN At present, high school supervisor, formerly Southeast High School principal. I recall so vividly the early years in the history of Southeast High School, particularly the united effort on the part of faculty and student body in creating a unique school spirit, based upon the best experience of other high schools and yet devoid of meaningless traditions. I know that your sense of school loyalty is real because it is founded upon a genuine respect for that spirit of co-operation and understand- ing which is so characteristic of Southeast High School. ' I congratulate you upon your fine accomp- lishments and extend to you my very best wishes for your continued success. GEORGE A. PETERSON WE STUDENTS OF SOUTHEAST . . . HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO WIN PRAISE BY THINKING AND DOING NEW THINGS. These words, taken from the open- ing paragraphs of the first Crusader,', represent the spirit in which Southeast's splendid history was begun. When the first Crusader editors wrote RWE HAVE STARTED EVERYTHING WITH A CLEAN RECORD , they were ex- pressing, in a way, the philosophy which was to characterize the growth of the new school. Tra- dition was not to prevent it from thinking and doing new things! Development of resource- fulness, initiative, the spirit of adventure and a sense of responsibility were early ideals accepted by Southeast. J. G. BRYAN MR. GEORGE PETERSON At present, vice principal of Southwest High School, formerly vice principal Southeast High School.
