In Memoriam If there's another world, He lives in bliss, If there is none, He made the best of this. i Mr. john Conlon Q1908-1968Q He smiled, he joked, he rumbled through our lives and left his presence by the gruffness of his voice which never quite concealed the twinkling humor, a rare individual doubly blessed. He was happy, but more important he knew it. Too soon we will all forget. Another laugh, another joke, another source of joy will fill the lifeless vacuum left behind him. But as we think of him from time to time, as surely we will, far better would it be to smile and joke as he would do, to take a lesson from life to find our own contentment, than to slowly shake our heads in sorrow of his passing. 16

Dedication The changing times at Southbridge High School are reflected in the lives of Mrs. Barbara H. Kyrios and Mr. William C. Nickerson. Both have devoted three decades of their lives in assisting our students. For their efforts and devotion, we are greatly indebted to these two fine people. To them we dedicate MILESTONE 1969. Mrs. Barbara H. Kyrios Since 1938, Mrs. Barbara H. Kyrios has been teaching young women the art of homemaking. Besides being actively involved with Glee Clubs and Drama Clubs, she was adviser to the Class of 1952. Mrs. Kyrios' service to the school and community will always be remembered by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. We wish her well in her retirement. Mr. William C. Nickerson For three decades, Mr. William C. Nickerson has devoted his life to the teaching profession. Changing times have not 1- altered his understanding, and sympathetic attitudes toward the students of Southbridge High School. Mr. Nickerson has spent long hours counseling students and was the adviser to the Class of 1951. When he retires this year. he plans to fulfill his lifelong ambition by living by the sea. Our best wishes to him in his retirement.
