CYNTHIA SHIPP Cynthia's four year sail through South Side has been a pleasant one for all parties concerned. Ambitious, mannerly, helpful, joyous, all these pleasing attributes join in making Cynthia one of the nicest and sweetest girls in the class. RALPH STONE It mokes no difference how worn the gilt edge on our deck may become, for Ralph's personality will never be dimmed. With his uncanny sense of humor, he Has often helped us see the sunny side of South Side. SONDRA SIDERMAN Silent and sophisticated, our Son-dra has poise, charm, and an easy manner which makes her well liked by all of us. Sondra is one who accomplishes much in a quiet, conservative way with a mature and serious manner. GLORIA SKINNER Petite, peppy, and popular describe our gai Gloria. Ever ready for a laugh and ever ready to do a iob, she has a splendid personality and a jolly sense of humor, combined to make her one swell girl. RALPH SODANO Ralph prefers a casual, pleasant, and uninvolved mode of existence. Because of his easy-going attitude and cheerful disposition, he rates highly with us all and his loyalty and simplicity go far in acclaiming him a fine young man. LEWIS STUKALIN Good looking, quick-witted, interesting friendly, and a swell quy are the words that characterize Lewis. With these qualities and many more, he has made himself an outstanding member of our senior class and will remain outstanding in his future years. MARILYN TISCHIO In every deck, there turns up a high honor card. Tish'' is that way because she's sincere and profound. Having learned the secret of fun, and found the treasure of laughter, she's one swell gal. 2

EDWARD SCHERLACHER Eddie has gained fame in South Side through his exceptional athletic ability. He has participated whole-heartedly in football, baseball, and basketball which accounts for the spirit of true sportsmanship and friendliness that makes him well liked by everyone. ARLENE SEIDMAN Her ways are ways of pleasantness and cheerfulness. Agreeable, cute, and likeable, Arlene is a sweet girl and a swell friend. She is bound to reach her very highest goal in future years. JOAN SCHLOSS Known by all, Joan is a lively girl with many interests - her main one being dramatics. Sophisticated, attractive, and friendly, best describe her. We are sure that in the near future she will be a great success. FRED SCHWARTZ Freddy is a jolly fellow who, through his sense of humor and intelligence, has made many lifelong friends at South Side. With his quick wit and charming personality, we are sure that happiness is in store for him. CLARENCE SHAW Full of personality, Clarence has the enviable technique of attracting and keeping friends. Ever ready to give or take a joke, he is sure to be surrounded by admiring friends, no matter what fate has in store for him. SAUL SCHNEIDER Laugh and be merry,'' says Saul, who believes in practicing what he preaches. Saul, who can usually be seen with a group of boys and girls enjoying his witty comments, is one jester the class would be lost without. mi JOAN SHELTERS Cute, sweet, and studious are three words which summarize the type of person Joan is. She takes a great deal of interest in school activities and can also be seen at football games along with the cheerleaders. 2

MARY TRUPPO M for merry, A for attractive, R for reliable, Y for youthful - that not only spells Mary but also describes her. But there are no words in the dictionary to justifiably portray her, so we must say sincerely and profoundly, She's really swell I COLSTON WASHINGTON Although he is little in appearance, Colston rates highly with all of us. He is an all-around good fellow with an amiable disposition and a fun-loving nature. We are sure he will be a success. MARY ULTCH Though no one is perfect, Mary seems to come very close to being the exception. A rare combination of a good pupil, real friend, and willing student, she has found, by her charming manner, the key to our hearts. SHELDON WALLERSTEIN Shelly has made his mark in school because of his sparkling personality. His wit, which has enlivened many a dull class, plus a fun-loving nature tend to make him one of the most colorful members of our class. LORRAINE WEISS As good-natured and understanding as she is, red-headed Lorry is one who just seems to attract friends. This, combined with her unusual capacity for hard work, can bring her nothing but the very best in life. HUGO WAHLSTROM Everyone thinks of Hugo as the Johnny Lujack of South Side. He is well liked by everyone because of his charming manner and winning smile. With these traits we are certain that he will continue making friends throughout his whole life. ANGELA WHEELER As suggested by her name, Angela has been the angel'' of our class. With her magic touch, a job would be well done or a good time would be had, for she has proven as dependable as those celestial beings. 22
