Seniors Do You Remember? We entered South in 1956 as the largest en- rolled class. We buzzed around finding ourselves in all sorts of activities - in pep club, in sports events, in talent shows, decorating tor after game dances, and in many, many other things. Ot all the things we remember of our Sophomore days the Sophomore class party stands out. As Juniors we were a dynamic class, taking the lead in many school functions, we won the United Fund Drive, and, after struggling through the Iowa tests, placed forty of our members in the top QW: of the nation. We presented the Seniors with one ot their most important tinales - the Junior- Senior prom, lt Happens Every Spring. Our last act as Juniors was sending a classmate to the Philippines as a foreign exchange student. As South's '58-'59 year, our senior year, comes to a close, we look back on it as a prosperous year. For the second consecutive time we have won the United Fund Drive. The student body was lead by a number of outstanding senior otticers, and mighty Saxon teams were backed by a vig- orous rally squad. Many scholarships and honors have been placed on our classmates this year, showing that a prosperous class is on its way toward building a more prosperous Oregon. 9,041 fx Car washing helped the seniors in winning the United Fund Drive this year. SENIOR CLASS COUNCIL, FRONT ROW: Sharon Truax, Carol Shelton, Ricki Wood, Nadine Brooks, Pat Eth- ridge, Peg Coe, Sally Sloan, Mrs. Georgia Rowell, Miss Joyce Jensen. ROW 2: Dave Finlay, Bingham Powell, Pete Melin, Craig McEwen, Tom Dunham, Jett Bodenweiser. 21
