Due to interest shown the year before, a Probability and Statistics course was offered second semester to those who had completed Algebra ll and Geometry. Algebra ll students ,used a Hewlett Packard 2000C computer in addition to Hheir texts. The computer itself was not at South but was lreached by teletype machine and telephone. The use of lthis computer was a first for South, and students and teachers found it a rewarding experience. A National lMathematics Contest was given in March with approxi- mately thirty-five advanced math students participating. Sacred Heart College hosted a College Bowl in which se- llected math students matched their wits with other high school students.
