Through the time and ideas donated by our language arts teachers, students were encouraged to succeed, either in their English classes or in special challenges such as debates or plays. The 1965-1966 school year was the second year for South High's literary magazine, the HSavant,', in which every Colonel could have been a participant. A ,Q Service Stott Kept school shiningg fed hungry student body The responsibility of maintaining a neat and orderly building in addition to keeping the grounds clean and attractive throughout the year was a full time job for the service staff at South. Another important part of school service, the cafeteria staff was not idle. Supplying our student body with a balanced diet required endless hours of preparation and planning.
