Qffice Staff Efficiency kept South well organized Capability and efficiency were the two key words which characterized the office staff. The countless duties performed by these people kept the school running smoothly. Checking daily attendance, switchboard operating, collect- ing of various fees, mimeographing materials, and serving as a reference center were routine jobs of the office staff. Specific positions on the staff included those of office secretary, attendance clerk, registrar, assistant registrar, Dr. Pyles' secretary, switchboard operator, and office treasurer. New faces in the office this year were Mrs. .luanita Kisner, treasurer, and Mrs. Freema Deck, PBX operator. Our former PBX operator, Mrs. Mary Maxfield, was pro- moted to clerk-typist. 5 .1 ii fa, A Q-2 lg x . 1 i ' 3 t H - Mrs. Freema Deck, switch- Mrs. Mary Maxfield, clerk- board 0 erator' Mrs Wanda typistg Mrs. Louise Snow, P Q ' Kuhns, assistant registrar. nurse. Ceaseselers Expert advice guided youthful minds Supervision and guidance for every student was a vital function in our school system. Months before the l965-l966 school year began, counselors were kept busy organizing and pre- paring information on school enrollment schedules, and orientation for the sophomores. Records were kept on each student, containing a complete history of his school background. Under the direction of Mr. Gerald Morrison, guidance coordinator, the counselors of South High advised Colonels in making decisions concerning schedule changes, selection of colleges and also helped students to solve per- sonal problems. These men and women instilled confidence in the students helping them to reach emotional maturity. Another important part of school service, the cafeteria staff was not idle. Supplying our student body with a balanced diet required endless hours of preparation and planning. The excellent work done by the service staff made Colonels take pride in the appearance of their school. lr' X CUSTODIANS-Bottom Row: Herbert Marshall, Carl Baird, Harvey Ruhl, Kenny Kisner, Ed Blue.
