Mrs. Sherman, who had been the head librarian at South for 25 years, had been ill for nine weeks before her death. Among her accomplishments was the organization of the South High School Library Service League on April 1, 1935. She is also credited with guiding many students into library work. However, Southites remember that she was interested in all the activities of the school and was often seen in the stands cheering Packer teams on to victory. One of the many tributes to her was made by a Library Service League member who remarked, Our library, in fact our whole school won't be the same without Mrs. Sherman. There Wasn't anything she wouldn't do for her students. W mama .amz wa W ,mm ay sawn , Six members of South's Clerical Staff are pictured at the left.
