The seniors were well represented among the beauty queens. Christine Boddie held the title, Miss Blue Streak, with Jacquelyn Robinson and Mary McCoy attendants, Miss Sweetheart, Helen Johnson, with Annie C. Jackson and Connie Randall attendants, Helen Johnson and Mary Hicks are members of the Future Nurses of Tomorrow . As the year slowly but surely approaches the end, and we pause to take inventory, we became aware of the fact that we have lost classmates, however, we have gained new ones. This class has certainly made history. The magnificant class of nineteen hundred and sixty three. We truly feel that we have a past to cherish and a future to fulfill.

CLASS HISTORY ln September, l959, we entered South Girard High School, Each of us had different views in mind. Some of us were doubtful, some of us were fearful, while others felt what ever the task was or what ever efforts were required to secure a high school education they could make it. For the most of us those were wonderful days filled with anxiety of the challenge that confronted us. Many students were transferred to South Girard High from the various elementary and junior high school in this vicinity. This made our class become the second largest freshman class to enter these corridors. We overcome our many fears under the guidance of Mr. R. Lowe, Mrs. A. Lowe, Mrs. B. Merriweather and Mr. L. Smith. They were deeply con- cerned about our beginning in high school and gave us the very best in- structions. Members of our class participated in the various activities and organi- zation. The band, Majorette squad, football team, student council, Future nurses of Tomorrow, and basketball team. ln the marching Fifty were: Christine Boddie, Jacquelyn Robinson, Helen Johnson, James C. Henry and Lula Flagg. These members played an im- portant part in helping the band become one of the greatest in this area. Under the direction of Mr. L. Smith, Evon Johnson became one of S. G. greatest high stepping majorettes, Cn the football team, Willie Crittendon, James Sellers, John McClendon and Eddie Gibson. These players were under the supervision of Mr. L. T. Harrison and Mr. J. Abron made an excellent record. Representing us on the basketball team were: James Sellers, John Coar, John McClendon and Eddie Gibson. They also made a good record. ln l96O, we were proud sophomores under the guidance of Mr. J. Abron, Mr. L. Smith, Mrs. A. Lowe, and Mr, S. Bruce. At this time we were interest- ed in reaching a higher goal. Mary McCoy was selected head majorette. We were proud of her wonderful performance. During our sophomore year, Johnny Glovers became one of our football stars. We entered our junior year with much enthusiasm. Our sponsors were Mrs. L. l. Carter, and Mr. L. T. Harrison. We took Sociology with the senior class, our class was the first class to have that privilege. During the homecoming activities, Marion Randall reigned as Miss Junior, Mary McCoy and Lula Flagg were attendants to Miss Sweetheart Mary McCoy still held her position, head majorette for S. G. Girarettes. Christine Williams and Marion Randall were added to the cheering squad. Representing us in the student council were: Eddie Gibson, President, Christine Boddie, Secretary, Lula Elagg, recording secretary and Robert Lyles as Chaplain. We were seniors at last. Most of us had that dignified look and felt we were able to face the contest of the world. At this time, Mr. L. T. Harrison, and Mr. L. Robinson were our sponsors. Members holding office in re- organizations were: Christine Boddie secretary of the band, Helen Johnson, assistant secretary of the band, James Henry, Sergeant-at-arms, Jacquelyn Robinson, treasurer. John McClendon, Willie Crittendon, Johnny Glovers, James Sellers, and Eddie Gibson held important position on the football team with Willie Wyatt, Captain.

In time of hardship and time of trouble, Our love and admiration for you will be doubled Our remembrance of you will last forever. We will forget you . . . never!
