' I'fi I 22 WORLD FRIENDSHIP CLUB Working for World Unity ls the object of the South Gate World Friendship Club, which has close to 100 members. To accomplish this aim the club has given student forums on world problems before the Rotary Club, the Kiwanis Club, Knights of Columbus, L. A. City Federation of WFC, 20-30 Club, and the Huntington Park Woman's Club. It has sent over 100 Christmas cards to students in Holland and has received replies from pen pals in several foreign countries. Two initiations and several conventions have been attended. A special Pan American Day assembly was held on April 14. The winter officers were, president, Wilson Bridges, vice-president, Carol Morris: parliamentarian, Betty Long: secretary, Yvonne Dell: treasurer, Robert O'Connor. Summer: president, Wilson Bridges: vice- president, Neila Marsh: parliamentarian, Bob Breskin: secretary, Rosa Lee Kauling: treasurer, Mary Duncan.

KNlGl-'TS Outsta-ding honorary society for boys at South Gate high school is the Knights' organization. Under tae sponsorship of Mr. Robert Carlouist, the boys to k par. in ma y projects during the semester. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, presented to the student body, brought out the Knights' dramatic ability and proved to be a huge success. The Knights worked very hard collect- ing money for the Red Cross drive and helped organize other charitable benetits. Regular dutics of the boys are ushering at all events, working in the cafeteria and helping with student self government. Officers of the Knights are, president, Paul Griffin: vice-president, Bud Curry: secretary and treasurer, Ray Trayior: and sergeant at arms, LeRoy Koehler.

Officers during the last semester were Wesley Laubsoher, president, Joan Hansen, vice-president, Carol Trankle, secretary: Evelyn Nelson, historian. Preceding these were Beverly Fortner, president: Ann Dillon, vice-president, Marilyn Pettijohn, secretary, and Berta Fox, historian, in the first semester.
