The HT's, DC's and MR's who comprise R division are responsible for welding. brafing. maintenance of firemain, manufacture of new parts. sanitary systems, hull integrity. and most importantly damage control. R Division is involved in almost every shipboard evolution like Flight Quarters. Rescue and Assistance detail, and Fire Parties. The bulk of damage control readiness training falls on R Division. You can find their signature on almost every DC PQS book on board. When other divisions deem tasks impossible they bring them to R Division where they are made routine.
