A Division CA Division is comprised of the ship's Anti- Submarine Warfare specialists. The division is made up of Surface Sonar Technicians QSTG'sj and Torpedomen Mates QTM'sj. The STG's are tasked with maintaining the ship's sonar system and underwater fire control system. The STG's work in conjunction with the ASROC Gunner Mates to launch rocket thrown torpedoes and with the TM's to launch over the side torpedo shots. The whole division is involved when it comes to using the latest intelligence information to locate all underwater contacts hostile and friendly. The ASROC launcher and four torpedo tubes must be prepared to shoot at a moments notice. CA Division's high standards have enabled them to live up to their motto, Sagire, Classis, Des- tructum which, when translated from the Latin means, Search, Classify, and Destroy. STGC D.
