1956 yearbook we chose as our officers Presldent james Hill Mrs Volgt and Mr Prez were still watching over us as our advisors lhat year we were hosts to the semors at the junlor Senior Prom Our Prom Kmg was james Kehoe and Ann Munoz was his Queen Darlene Bell ant Arl Ose represented our class as attendants at the Homecoming that year Shmrley Buffa and Bruce Warden received superior ratmgs at the distrlct music contest and so moved on to compete at the reg1onal contest That year Terry Reneau and Bruce Warden were chosen to be our delegates to Illlnols Boys State at Sprmgield, Illlnols There Terry Reneau was elected Lt Governor of Boys State Pat Vlsgar was chosen as the delegate to go to Illinois Girls State at Jacksonvllle Illmols In 1956 again, one of our classmates Janet Neudorff won first prize in the Amerlcan Legion F-'sway Contest Another classmate Karen Glsleson, was the edltor of the school paper, the TOMAHAWK which kept us posted on the news and activities of the yeafs We now move to the fourth and most hectlc year, 1957 our senior year In retrospect that year seemed to be the shortest and most active for everyone concerned It was filled with school work plans for our class trip high school activities and graduation Mrs Voig and Mr Prez were again our class advisors Some of the hlghllghts of that year stand out in my memory Rosalie Dever was chosen Homecoming Queen and Shirley Severson was the senior attendant of the Homecoming Queen s court Pat Vlsgar received the D A R award and the Betty Crocker Good Homemaker award Our senlor play baved by the Belle was enjoyed by all The Sweethearts Ball was another outstanding event of that year The theme for the ball was The Oriental Gardens 'I'he gym was decorated like a huge japanese garden The Sweetheart Court consisted of Liz Kamholz, Y Teens President joan Chapel Vice President Rosalie Dever, Secretary and Pat Vlsgar, Treasurer During our senior year we sold charm bracelets, key chains and held candy sales to earn money for our class trip That year, we were feverishly work ing on the annual trying to make the deadlines and such with the able assistance and guidance of our yearbook advisor, Miss Claus 'I'hanks to her we made lt We looked for ward to the Jumor Senior Banquet ln 1957, as we were the honored guests Also we eagerly awalted the Senior Prom and were anxlous to see who the Prom caps and gowns, our high school days seemed to come quickly to a close. All too soon it was our last week of school -- class day, baccalaureate services and then graduation.
