Seventy-four gooflaf We would like to thank the coaching staff, Mr. Deljilio, assisted by Mr. Hatfield and Mr. McEachron, for the fine spirit which the team showed this year. Although we didn't win a single game all year and scored only two touchdowns, the team played in such a way as to make everyone proud of them. We lost our first game on September 19, be- fore an enthusiastic crowd, as the U. City Indians won 19-0. We then journeyed to East St. Louis and lost by an overwhelming score, 53-U. But the line played very creditably as East Side had to score all but one of their touchdowns through passing. Entering league play, the team lost a close one to Cleveland 12-U. We were often deep in their territory, due to fine passing of Duke and Holt, but weren't able to cross the final stripe. The following week we were badly beaten by Beaumont, and it was only due to the fine playing of Tony larnes, that the score wasn't larger than 39-O. Then followed a non-league game which was lost to Kirkwood 26-U. We then met powerful McKinley and played very encouragingly but lost 21-U. The Tiger offense was good due to fine running by Cor- nell Bowen. In the Roosevelt game which followed, Ed Stein, helped by the fine playing of his brother loe,
