ella .gvria Ha Ivria, one of the oldest organizations in Soldan-Blewett High School, is devoted to the advancement ot Hebrew culture. This group gives its members a chance to broaden their knowledge and their viewpoints by becoming acquainted with the customs and history of the Near East. Ha Ivria meets every other Friday after school. The group under the able sponsorship of Mr. lules Biegelsen, has carried out an active pro- gram during the past year. Discussions were held which touched upon imminent problems facing the world today. Each member taking part in these discussions was given the oppor- tunity to express his views besides being given valuable practice in the art of debating. Quiz programs with catchy answers were thoroughly enjoyed. All these programs were prepared throughout by members oi the various commit- tees. During the term Mr. Biegelsen taught the organization folk songs and folk dances. Ha Ivria was given permission to use films from a television serial for use during club meetings. These films portrayed certain well-known incie dents from the Bible. Each term was climaxed with a party. There were refreshments, folk dances, singing, social dances, and a few games.
