Forty-two We at Soldan-Blewett are proud of the variety and strength of our student activity program. While the regular curriculum provides the backbone of our learn- ing for our practical and scholastic future, activities teach us the invaluable lessons of getting along with our fellow students in work and play. ln some instances these activities approach the problems and solutions of future pursuits. Above all they make the school alive and have importance away from the classroom. So, school activities are those extra-curricular abilities which are creative and make us the balanced and normal individuals that We hope to be.

The first president was Robert Dieckman, who has been followed by five excellent successors. The formation of the Student Council was the culmination of a long-time desire for a student representative body in which the wishes of the students could be expressed. One of the first accomplishments of the Student Council was the combination of the lunch rooms. For years, there had been a girls' and a boys' separate lunchroorn. Now, we are able to eat in either lunchroom. Another of the first works of the Student Council was our school appearance in Prom, the teen-agers magazine. This had been
