Many students responded eagerly to the opportun- ities afforded by the Club and the result was a very successful year of skating. During the fall and winter weather the club met at the Winter Garden every Friday after school from 3:30 until 5:00. Besides skating, which is the main activity of the club, periodical meetings were held to plan parties and to any problems which arose ia hinder the skating program. ilvc-ri. Many students of Soldan-Blewett are unaware of the existence of a lunior Red Cross Chapter in our school. Girls and boys who are interestf ed in doing for others and trying to brighten the lives of those less fortunate than we are, that is the veterans of the various neighboring Veteran's Hospitals, spend their spare tirne in making tray covers, nut cups, and carnival caps for each of the following holidays:f-Hallow- een, Thanksgiving, Christrnas, New Year, Wasti- ington's Birthday, St, Patricks Day, Easter, Memorial Day, and the Fourth of luly. Another one of their activities is knitting articles that are used by inmates of the City lnfirinary, Under the direction of Nr, Gronerneyer and Mi. Cliffe the art classes rnake posters for some ffi tile holidays, cccasicns, and at Christmas tht: 'sfhole school, tlirougli the various adviscrv groups, take up collections to buy enoufgli srnall gifts to fill about one hundred Clzristaziar, 'xcclzings for the Veterans.
