t iss: ' WOODY HATFIELD Head Coach goofdaf Approximately sixty boys turned out for football last fall. With many of his former stars gone, Coach Hatfield had his work cut out for him. Added to our already fine coaching staff this season was Mr. Bay Cliffe who took over super- vision of the Tiger line. He held this position formerly at Country Day School. Among the group of hard working fellows who went out for the sport were these returning lettermen: Captain Bob Diekman, Ierry Raslcas, Eddie Rosen, Dean Melton, Iack Krekeler, George Anastas, Frank Luzenske, Tom Bianchi, and Ioe Wooden. Soldan Blewett opened the season at University City Here the Bengals lost to the powerful U City eleven 19 6 Our next encounter was at East St Louis Here the hard fighting Tigers held East St Louis to a single touchdown in the first half but in the second half the East Siders capitalized on our inexperience and won by a score of 39 0 SUB BASEMENT TRAPPED NQg'7hh,:,,d0l9-gi 4 :JY sig, Eighty .Mlm wi' -4 4'-A If H it ,aw 435 'Mit :M EQ 5 Vit! abs 36 AQ
