The Vocal Ensemble consists ot about sev- enty-eight students, both boys and girls who meet every day in Room 300, under the direc- tion of Miss Thym. This year the group, which includes students of all terms, will help cele- brate Vocal Ensemble's third birthday. They sing music written in unison as well as four part arrangements. Some of the songs used by the Vocal Ensemble are The Bells of Saint Mary's, Prelude, Stout Hearted Men, Pretense, When Day is Done, and many more. enior 6Aamina e The Senior Chaminade, having cr membership of seventy-nine girls. is one oi the six vocal groups at Soldan-Blewett. The music family includes three Senior groups-Choir, Senior Chaminade. and Boys' Glee Club: two Iunior groups-Iunior Chaminade, and Vocal En- semble: and a Freshman group, Iunior Chorus. Senior Chaminade is often referred to as a stepping stone to Choir. The girls' activities this term consisted of radio programs, and an appearance before the Soldan-Blewett Mothers' Club. As there has been so much talent in the group this term, they have held several talent shows. Not only does everyone enjoy them, but they have helped some of the bashiul girls to gain confidence in appearing before an audience. Among the wide variety of music, the girls sing both classical and popular music, under the guidance of Miss Adele Thym. unior CLamina e Junior Chaminade, one of Soldan-B1ewett's active music groups, consists of seventy-eight girls, under the leadership of Miss Adele Thym. Meeting daily. the girls work hard to improve themselves in such things as breathing and diction. Together with the Boys Glee Club. they presented a Christmas program to the Mothers' Club, singing three numbers: Gesu Bambino, Angels We Have Heard On High, and Silent Night. Junior Chaminade is very proud of its name. as Madame Chaminade was the first woman to gain recognition as a composer. She has been highly honored for such pieces as her Scarf Dance. and other beautiful numbers for piano and orchestra.
