John Kelly, Tom Thornburgh USIC washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life. So says Auerbah. It is the joy of singing that finds the ninety A Cappella Choir members in their places at 8 a.m. each morning in Room 300. This club, which ranks the highest of the six cho- ral groups at Soldan-Blewett, has many re- sponsibilities. Under the guidance of Miss Thym, it participates in numerous activities during the school year. Besides taking part in school programs, the members appeared on radio broadcasts over KFUO, KWK, and KSD-TV, special programs for Mothers' Clubs, P.T.A., Missouri Garden Clubs, and Unesco at Kiel Auditorium. The busiest time of all, Christmas season, found the group caroling not only at Soldan- Blewett but at Union Station, Hotel Statler, and Merchant's Exchange. The Choir as Well as the other music groups appeared in Soldan-Blewett's annual Winter concert held in its auditorium January 21. This was an- other successful performance. ADAME CHAMINADE 11861-19445 was the first woman to gain recognition as a composer. No Wonder the Glee Club Girls at Soldan-Blewett are proud to be members of Chaminade. The membership of Senior Cham consists of seventy-two girls, mostly upper terms, who have an opportunity of enjoying their work by participating in school as well as community programs. The Spring Term numbers one hundred and four. The music department finds time for so- cial life, also. The big social event for all music organizations every term is the Hello Day party where all the students of the music department get acquainted. Besides the usual dancing and refreshments, an amateur program is provided by the mem- bers. Under the guidance of Miss Thym, the Senior Chaminade has established itself as one of the outstanding music groups at Sol- dan-Blewett. The group often takes part in school programs and has earned the appre- ciation and recognition of the student body.
