GRADE FACULTY The Grade teachers have not only to teach their pupils the three R's, but also to guide them and channel their thoughts in the right directions so that, as they are very young, they will develop an interest in knowledge and be eager to learn new things. A teacher does this in many ways. First of all, he must continue learning himself. He attends summer school at the college of his choice. He may take extension courses which are offered during the year. A teacher must constantly set a good example. He does this by being a leader and taking charge of various committees. In our school, we have much evidence of this. The Grade Student Council has set up Advisory Committees which are headed by two to four teachers who advise a committee composed of one student from each room. Here, students and teachers work together to improve the atmosphere of the school. Our teachers also serve by working with Girl and Boy Scout Troops. A grade teacher must interest his students in their work. In grade school, a child must explore many different fields of learning to find his special talents. He must have a well-rounded background so that he will be able to pursue in- telligently his specific abilities in high school. It is the high school student who finds that much of his academic ideas, economic stability, and social concepts can be traced to the things presented to him in elementary school by his grade teachers.

HEALTH STAFF Dr. Hobbie, school physician, and Mrs. Cole, part-time secretary, conduct physicals. This year, a new health room with many modern facilities was installed in the school. In addition to the newly furnished health room inthe central building, there is an infirmary in the new grade addition. Medical appraisal of each student was given by Dr. Hobbie, the school physician. This was followed by visual screening of each student. All students' teeth were cleaned by Miss Taylor, and hear- ing tests were conducted by Mrs. White. Miss Taylor, dental hygienist, examines and cleans the students' teeth.
