Not only have our teachers continued to learn, but also they have continued to serve in the community, travel through our country, and join professional committees and organizations. So, our teachers continued to learn. Mrs. Bellinger, Mrs. Fletcher, Miss Lingle and Mrs. Richards took a course from Syracuse University. Miss Lingle completed courses at Penn. State University and Mrs. Bellinger completed another course at William Smith. Mr. Mastroleo studied at the University of Louisville and 'at Hobart College. Mr. McGowan and Mrs. Kimpland studied at the University of Rochester. Mr. Vanderburg took a Driver Education Course at Oswego State Teachers' College, while Mr. Cooper studied at Brockport. Some members of our faculty received first hand information on important places in the United States. Mr. King traveled through ten states in New England and along the Eastern seaboard. The Hungerfords traveled through New England to Quebec. Mr. Vanderburg visited the Saint Lawrence Seaway Project, and Mr. Meneely took a trip to Maryland. Besides studying, traveling, and teaching, our faculty members somehow found time to belong to professional and fraternal organizations, taking an active part in the Wayne County and New York State Teachers' Associations. They serve on various school committees such as the Assembly, Ethics, Merit, and Faculty Advisory Committees. They are ac- tive in organizations such as the Rotary, Swing Choir, Sodus Recreation Association, Sodus Faculty Club, and various church groups. Thus, our teachers lead well-rounded lives. They are examples of the motto of New York State University: Let each become all he is capable of being.
