The year began with their participa- tion in hockey and soccer. The girls became more ex- cited and interested as win- ter came and basketball was on the schedule. This fast g ame brought out more girls than ever before. Spring brought with it soft- ball and badminton. The girls paired off into bad- minton doubles to fight on to victory. Many girls participated and softball was a brilliant climax for the girls' year of sports. The varsity cheerleading squad con- sists of five cheerleaders, three of whom are seniors. The three seniors are Beverly Carter,Doris Smith, and Betty Jean Liefer. The other two are Juniors, Beronica Dixon, and Patricia Ramsey. This year has proved to be a very happy year for the varsity squad, for Smyrna not only had a good basketball team, but also an undefeated football team.
